Portland, OR - Evan Gray graduated Mudville this past summer. He reports to the Lewis & Clark Pioneers as a middle infielder, one of 17 new recruits for this Northwest Conference NCAA Division III baseball program and Head Coach Tom Flynn. Evan is the 8th Mudville player to play college baseball in this league.

What made you decide to join Mudville?
I wanted to play for a reputible program and with my friends Luke Simpson, Sam Latimer, and Maclean Harned.
What can you say about the Mudville coaching staff?
It was a lot of fun. The staff knows how to teach the game including the small ball tactics.
What’s your first memory of Mudville?
Playing 3rd base at Steve Cox Memorial Field.
What do you love most about the sport of baseball?
The feeling one gets after making great contact with a fastball.
If you weren’t playing baseball, what sport(s) would you be playing?
Football.
What kinds of things do you like to do away from the field?
Take photos, sleep, swim, play basketball.
When you attend college, what do you intend to major in and why?
Psychology and Biochemistry.
If baseball doesn’t work out, what do you aspire to do after college?
Travel around the world.
Are you involved in the community? If so, what have you done?
Yes, I have done multiple volunteer works, currently I am working on a documentary about industrial racism in our society with an organization called AFSC.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given and by whom?
Cultivate your own garden. My dad (citing Voltaire)
Do you have any pre-game superstitions? If so, what are they?
None.
What number have you worn in high school? Does it have any significance to you?
I had four different numbers because our high school did not have matching uniform sets.
If you could meet any three people, dead or alive, who would they be?
Ken Griffey Jr., John Wooden, Martin Luther King Jr.
If you could visit one country you’ve never been to, what would that be and why?
China, not really sure why.
Who was your favorite athlete growing up?
Ken Griffey Jr.
What is your favorite baseball team?
The Seattle Mariners.
What sporting event would you most like to see?
The Winter Olympics.
What’s the most important thing fans should know about you?
I play baseball not just to win, but because it’s fun.
