CABA 18U Wood Bat Nationals: Pinnacle Finishes With a Win, Loss, Tie and Reinforced Team Chemistry!

Crete, NB - Pinnacle (16-7, 1-1-1) finished the event-shortened tournament in an exhibition game against the Dallas Jaxx at Doane College, losing 2-0. Inclement weather washed out the CABA 18U World Series into a fun week of team chemistry events including visiting several of the 2010 College World Series games.

CABA 18U Wood Bat Nationals Update: Mudville Ties Texas 3-3!

Crete, NB - Pinnacle (16-6, 1-0-1) tied the Connie Mack Texas State Champions and #1 seed Dallas Patriots 3-3. By virtue of the tiebreaker rules, Mudville gains the victory for holding the last lead. George Jiranek, Mason Haugen and Cam Wilson pitched the Pinnacle team into near victory. Brennen Steinbaugh drove in Jordan Richartz and Shane Smith to give Mudville a 3-1 lead in the fourth.

The game featured a couple of key Pinnacle double plays to end Patriot rallies, a sinking live drive catch ny CF Garrett DeGallier and an outfield assist by RF Jordan Richartz to Catcher Peter Summerville to nail a Patriot runner at the plate to kill a 5th inning rally. Unfortunately, Mudville’s defense let down on a botch bunt and errant pickoff by Haugen to tie the game. Mudville plays the Dallas Jaxx on Friday, at 2 PM, Doane College in Crete, NB.

CABA 18U Wood Bat Nationals Update: Mudville Defeats Missouri 3-1!

Crete, NB - Pinnacle (15-6, 1-0) defeated the #2 seed Andrew County Kings of St. Joseph, Missouri 3-1, in the tourney-shortened event. Andrew Villeneuve, Sam Lattimer, Cam Wilson and Mason Haugen combined for a 6-hitter. Garrett DeGallier tied the game with a solo blast in the 4th, Shane Smith executed a perfect suicide squeeze after Jordan Richartz had singled to begin the inning. Jacob Oster tallied the last RBI scoring Brennen Steinbaugh for the final run in the 5th. Pinnacle has seven hits.

Mudville flashed the leather with ESPN highlights of Troy Colyer, Shane Smith, Evan Thompson and Cam Wilson. Mudville now plays the top seeded Dallas Patriots Stout at 4 PM, Doane College in Crete, NB.
