2009 Team Finishes Season with 58 Wins!

Mercer Island, WA – The 2009 Mudville Pinnacle (58-23) 18U team won 58 games and lost 23 games, while participating in 6 tournament championship games which included capturing the 2009 Connie Mack Washington State Championship at Bannerwood Sports Park.

The 2009 Pinnacle team advanced to the AABC Connie Mack Western Regional in Hayward, California finishing 4th, eventually losing to the eventual Regional Champions, Danville Hoots 4-3 in nine innings.  Earlier in July, the Mudville 18U team traveled to Tulsa, Oklahoma and placed 4th at the NBC 19U World Woodbat Championships.  NBC is the oldest of all youth associations in America.  The winner of this event advanced to the NBC Collegiate World Series.

Pinnacle played in six championship games last year including 2nd place finishes at the Palouse Summer Series (Mudville captured the 2008 crown), Cardinal Classic and Toyota Bash.  Pinnacle captured the Triple Crown Series Memorial Day Invitational, Skagit River Mid-Summer Classic and the Connie Mack state championship.  Mudville finished tied for 5th in the Baden and Shockers tournament events. (Three 1st, three 2nd, two 4th and two 5th place finishes)

GM and founder Kurt Boyd stated, "A 40-win season is a very good season and the gold standard at 18U ball.  50-win tally is a great season ... we were two wins shy of 60!  This team was a group of unselfish players who would give anything for their teammates, coaches and an ultimate victory."  The Muddies had 15 more wins than their 2008 performance of 43 wins combining a 101-47 record in the past two years.  The 2009 team played 18 games over the minimum tournament guarantee games.

Mudville has been in existence for 10 years.  In that short period of time, they have won the 2008 Triple Crown Series World Series Championship, the 2004 Hawaiian World Series and captured their second AABC state championship in three years.
