Peter Summerville will sign National Letter if Intent Courtesy: Mudville Sports Information |
Seattle, WA – Peter Summerville, Mudville's starting catcher, has committed to play at Santa Clara University for Head Coach Mark O’Brien. He will sign his National Letter of Intent in November 2009. Summerville becomes the sixth Mudville player in the past three years to sign a National Letter of Intent for a NCAA Division 1 scholarship.
Peter joined Mudville Pinnacle 18U in 2009 that won 58 games and participated in 6 tournament championship games including winning the 2009 Connie Mack Washington State Championship at Bannerwood Sports Park. The Pinnacle team advanced to the AABC Connie Mack Western Regional in Hayward, California finishing 4th, eventually losing to the eventual Regional Champions, Danville Hoots 4-3 in nine innings.
In July 2009, Peter who is Mudville’s starting catcher led his team to a 4th place finish at the NBC 19U World Woodbat Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mudville played in seven championship games last year including 2nd place finishes at the Palouse Summer Series, Cardinal Classic and Toyota Bash. Pinnacle captured the Triple Crown Series Memorial Day Invitational, Skagit River Mid-Summer Classic and the Connie Mack state championship. Mudville finished tied for 5th in the Baden and Shockers Invitationals.
Peter will be a 2010 graduate of the Seattle Academy and is will be a 4-year baseball letterman at Garfield High School (KingCo 4A) in Seattle under Head Coach Joe Lucia. In 2008 he contributed to Garfield’s upset win against then #1 4A team in Washington State, Redmond hitting 1-3 with 2 RBI. In 2009 he led Garfield in hitting with a .370 average. Peter is a Paul Robeson Scholar Athlete Recipient from 2000-2006 and a Garfield High School Scholar Athlete Recipient in 2007 and 2008.
At Seattle Academy, he has been on the High Honor Roll or All A’s Honor Roll every trimester from 2003-present. Peter achieved his community service requirement of 160 hours for Seattle Academy by his sophomore year.
He participated at the 2009 Area Code Games for the Washington Nationals Scout Team and the Seattle Mariners Scout Team at the Mariner’s Cup and Arizona Fall Classic. He is a Perfect Game National Showcase Invitee in Jupiter, FL in 2009. Peter attended USA Baseball’s National Team Identification Series Tournament in Cary, North Carolina in September 2009.
In his free time he enjoys working out, hitting at the cages and hanging out with friends in Bellevue. Some of my favorite things to do are traveling, fishing, hunting, watching professional baseball games, and barbeque in the backyard. He enjoys spending time with the family in Palm Springs, California, one of his favorite places to visit.
