- Mudville Pinnacle (47-17, 5-0) defeated league rival Marysville Outlaws 4-3 in the winners bracket of the Connie Mack State Championships held at Bannerwood Sports Park. Pitchers Connor Sjolander, Patrick Vandergrift and Troy Colyer combined for the win in this wood bat affair. Read More...Mudville produced seven hits with two Outlaw erros to collect their four runs. OF Brad Binder and 3B Daniel Schmidt each collected an RBI. 1B Matt Boyd was 2 for 3. Pinnacle has won five straight games in this week's competition, allowing only four runs while scoring 30 runs.
Pinnacle is now 30 games above .500, six games higher than the same point last season. The Nine finished 43-24 in 2008. Mudville takes on the winner of the Reality Sports-JBA Bruins game tomorrow at 3:00 PM, Bannerwood Sports Park in Bellevue. Pinnacle needs to win one game to capture their second state AABC championship in 3 years.
