Connie Mack State Championships Day #3 - Pinnacle Advances to the Winners Bracket Finals

Mercer Island, WA - Mudville Pinnacle (45-17, 2-0) defeated the #1 seed from the Dow League, Kent's JBA Bruins 5-0 in the third round of the Connie Mack State Championship held at Island Crest Park. LHP Matt Boyd struck out 12 hitters, pitching a complete game 3-hitter.

3rd Baseman Daniel Schmidt hit a solo shot and shortstop Troy Colyer drove in 2 runs. Mercer Islander 1B Dave Courtney drove in a run with a pair of walks. Mudville plays Reality Sports on Friday at 7:30 PM, Lower Woodland Park in Seattle.

In other Mudville news, 3A All-State First Team Shortstop Jeff Melby committed to the University of Portland making him the 11th player in the 2009 Mudville team to move on to a collegiate baseball program.
