Tulsa, OK - Mudville Pinnacle 18U (42-17) finished fourth at the NBC 19U World Series Tournament today. Mudville lost to Play Ball Sports from Arvata, CO, 8-4 finishing with a 4-2-1 record. Pinnacle prepares for the first round of the Connie Mack State Championship next Tuesday at 6:30 PM, Island Crest Park.
Team Pinnacle visited Oklahoma City after being eliminated from the tournament. A two hour drive, the team saddled up the rental cars to visit the state capital of Oklahoma, watched a OK City Redmen baseball game, the AAA affiliate of the Texas Rangers and the former home of Head Coach Marc Sagmoen. The Redmen organization gave 35 tickets to the entire Mudville group to watch the Redmen defeat the Iowa Cubs 8-1. After the game, the team visited the The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. The memorial park was created to honor those who were killed, those who survived and those changed forever by the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. The Memorial and Museum are dedicated to educating visitors about the impact of violence, informing about events surrounding the bombing, and inspiring hope and healing through lessons learned by those affected. The Mudville Pinnacle 18U will always remember the impact the National Memorial had on them that day.
"We come here to remember those who were killed, those who survived and those changed forever. May all who leave here know the impact of violence. May this memorial offer comfort, strength, peace, hope and serenity."
