Shockers Invitational Update: 8 Teams Remaining as Mudville Battles Back!

Mount Lake Terrace, WA - Mudville Pinnacle (35-14, 5-3) plays at 3:15 PM today against the winner of the Narrows-Apple Valley winner at Mt. Lake Terrace HS. Only eight teams remain from the original twenty teams in this marathon event.

After a sub-par performance during the pool play, Mudville's 1-2 finish garnered a 17th seed. Mudville has defeated 3 higher seeded teams, the Seattle Dodgers twice, in a scheduling glich. Pinnacle defeated the Dodgers 6-0 in the opening round of the double elimination event. The Dodgers needed to wait to play the loser of Mudville' next game against the Seattle Stars, the #1 seed and winner of Mudville's opening pod. Mudville lost 3-1 in a closely contested game. Mudville then ran off 3 straight victories against the same Dodgers, 6-3, Auburn Athletics 1-0 and the North Corner Tribe 7-4.

Mudville's 1-2 pod play finish came with a victory against Lux and losses to the Seattle Shockers and the Seattle Stars. The Stars finished as the #1 seed and the Shockers the #3 seed in a highly competitive pod.
