Sedro Wolley, WA - Mudville Pinnacle (30-11, 4-1) captured its second championship title of the 2009 season defeating the Yakima Beetles 5-3 at Sedro Wolley High School.  This was Mudville's fourth appearance in the championship game this season in four tournament events.

Mudville advanced in the semi-finals by beating Ferndale Legion 8-0 earlier in the day behind the pitching of Seafth Howe and the timely hitting of SS Jeff Melby who pitched in with a homerun and a double.  In the championship game, Patrick Vandergrift and Cam Wilson limited the Beetles to three runs as the Pinnacle offense provided all the needed to support late in the game to capture the championship title.

No rest for the Mudville Nine as they begin the week long Shockers 4th of July Invitational with round robin play on Monday, 6/29/09 at 9:00 AM versus the host team and 3:00 PM against the Seattle Stars.

Mudville previously won the 2009 Triple Crown Memorial Day tournament at Marymoor Park this year.  They took second at the Palouse Summer Series in Pullman last weekend and the Cardinal Classic I at Bannerwood earlier in June.
