Pinnacle Plates Fourteen in a Second Round Win at Cardinal Classic

Bellevue, WA - Pinnacle (19-4, 2-0) won their second game of the Cardinal Classic defeating the host team, Wilkinson Cardinals 14-8 at Bannerwood Sports Park.  Mudville had lost to the Cardinals last week 9-6 in another WSBL match-up.  

Liberty HS Junior Troy Colyer won his 1^st game of the year, pitching a 2-hitter through five innings.  Eastlake HS Robert Ward relieved Colyer but had problems with his control. Patrick Vandergrift closed out the game.  Wilkinson pitchers struggled with their control as they walked 11 and hit three Mudville batsmen. 

Jeff Melby had an inside-the-park homerun; Peter Summerville reached based four times safely, and along with Melby, Matt Boyd and Danny Poplawski three times each.  Mudville has now evened the season series with Wilkinson at one apiece.

Mudville Pinnacle Doubles Up Pilots Baseball Club in Cardinal Classic Opener

Bellevue, WA - Pinnacle (18-4, 1-0) opened up with a 4-2 first round win against the Bellevue Pilots Baseball Club at Bannerwood Sports Park. 

 

Connor Sjolander (3-0) won his 3rd game of the year with a six inning, 4-hit appearance after giving up three of those hits on bunts in the first inning.  Reliever Troy Perry finished the game with his 3^rd save of the year. 

 

OF Tommy Boguch, 1B Matt Boyd and SS Jeff Melby each went 2 for 3.
