Infielder Daniel Schmidt Goes Perfect at the Plate

Mercer Island, WA - Mudville Pinnacle (7-1) won their 6th straight game at home with a 10-1 victory over Bellevue Senior Legion at Island Crest Park.  Daniel Schmidt paced all M9 hitters, going 3 for 3 with a 2B, walk, run scored, three RBI and three stolen bases. 

Leadoff hitter Jeff Melby hit the first pitch of the game over the LC 330' sign to give Pinnacle a lead they would never relinquish.  Melby also added a double and 2 RBI.  Matt Boyd went 2 for 3 and a walk with 2 RBI.  Tommy Boguch reached safely three times with a single and two walks, scoring once with a stolen base. Troy Perry chipped in with 2 RBI.

Patrick Vandergrift (1-1) pitched four outstanding innings, giving up only one run on back to back hits with one out in the fourth.  Liberty High School pitchers Andrew Pittman and Connor Sjolander pitched the final three innings of scoreless relief.
