- Mudville (6-1, 5-0) wrapped up the TCS Memorial Day Invitational with a 7-1 victory over the Wave at Marymoor Park. The Wave beat Reality Sports to earn the right to advance to the championship game as the #2 seed. In the 3rd place game, Reality Sports defeated the Eastlake Tigers 3-2.The Muddies continued their theme of outstanding pitching, great defense and timely hitting to defeat their league rivals. The Pinnacle defense only committed 4 errors in the tournament and averaged almost 9 runs per game. Mudville turned 2 double plays against the Wave.
OF Tommy Boguch went 3 for 3 with a double, stolen base and a run scored. First baseman David Courtney and second baseman Troy Colyer each added doubles. Courtney and catcher Peter Summerville hit homeruns, with Summerville adding a 2-RBI double to collect a total of 12 RBIs for the weekend. He was 11 for 16 with 2 walks, collecting three homeruns.
LHP Matt Boyd (2-0) won his second game of the weekend, starting his second game in less than 48 hours throwing 5 innings of scoreless ball to add to his 4 scoreless innings on Saturday. In the two games he pitched, he gave up a total of six hits and striking out eleven, picking off two runners. Robert Ward pitched a scoreless sixth and Cam Wilson pitched the seventh to finish the game. The run was unearned. Mudville won three WSBL games during the tournament and is now 4-0 against the Wave the past two years.
